Cryolipolysis

Want to permanently get rid of fat deposits without resorting to liposuction?

Now you can choose a non-invasive solution without pain or recovery time, and immediately return to your daily activities. Indeed, cryolipolysis permanently removes fat cells by freezing.

First, let’s clarify the difference between completely removing fat cells and reducing their volume.

Children are born with a certain number of fat cells determined by genetics, and their number increases until adolescence. After our twenties, we no longer increase the number of fat cells, but their volume. Obesity is an exception, and such an increase in fat cells is called hyperplastic thickness. Basal metabolism and daily activities require a certain amount of energy. Since fat cells are energy depots, reducing calorie intake decreases fat storage, and energy derived from triglycerides in fat cells is used for metabolic processes in the body when consumed through activity. The more energy we use, the higher the demand, thus the lipolysis process is more active.

The formula seems simple: the number of calories we intake should be the number we expend. However, lipolytic processes are very complex. Lipolysis does not depend only on this, as fat cells have receptors that either stimulate or inhibit lipolysis, so certain conditions can disrupt and complicate this process. Fat tissue also contains connective tissue and lymph, often retaining water, fat degradation products, and toxins.

Kriolipoliza

Certain imbalances and diseases can disrupt complex metabolic processes, and regardless of calorie reduction, they can completely hinder the lipolysis process, i.e., the reduction of fat deposits and volume. Regardless, diet, activities, and metabolism can only reduce or increase the volume of fat cells but cannot permanently remove them.

Until now, all non-invasive aesthetic methods aimed to reduce the volume of fat cells and could not permanently remove them. Due to poor dietary habits, physical inactivity, and poor metabolism, fat cells would “refill”.

Now we have a solution – cryolipolysis!

What is cryolipolysis?

Permanent removal of fat deposits by freezing!

Unlike reduction diets and appliance methods where only the volume of cells is reduced, here entire fat cells are removed and metabolized, so fats can no longer be stored in them. With liposuction, we mechanically remove fat cells, but with cryolipolysis, freezing causes the crystallization of fat cells, leading to apoptosis (cell death). Fat cells are entirely excreted from the body through classic metabolic processes.

Advantages of Cool Sculpt Cryolipolysis

Unlike other cryolipolysis devices where only two cooling plates are integrated into the applicator, Cool Sculpt cryolipolysis cools through the entire surface of the applicator, 360°, making the effect better and the treatment time shorter.

The treatment is safe for surrounding tissue because only the fat cushion in the applicator is frozen, while the skin surface is protected by a special membrane. At the same time, up to 4 different cushions can be treated.
Cryolipolysis is approved by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) for the permanent removal of localized fat deposits on:

  • Thighs
  • Abdomen
  • Waist
  • Fat tissue below the buttocks
  • Back
  • Double chin

Treatment

The treatment does not require preparation. Before treating the stomach area, it is not recommended to eat or drink a large amount of water 2 hours beforehand. First, we define the area we want to treat. One or more fat cushions can be treated. At the same time, up to 3 different fat cushions on the body and double chin can be treated. On the skin of the treated area, we place a special disposable membrane containing thermostable agents to protect the skin surface from freezing.

Over the membrane, we suction fatty tissue into the applicator that cools to -10°C. The applicator cools the entire surface, unlike other cryolipolysis devices where cooling is partial. Before cooling, the tissue is heated, making the treatment more comfortable. When the applicator starts to cool, a cold sensation intensifies with a tingling feeling in the tissue. Once the target temperature is reached, anesthesia and analgesia soon occur due to the freezing effect, and the treatment remains comfortable until the end.

During the treatment, the client is in a comfortable lying or semi-lying position and can fully relax for 30-45 minutes, the duration of the treatment. The length of treatment depends on the size of the fat cushion. Usually, 2-3 treatments are required.

Candidates

Candidates for cryolipolysis are individuals over 20 years of age who have excess fat deposits in the stomach area, inner and outer thighs, knees, beneath the buttocks, on the back, and those who have a double chin. Overweight individuals are not good candidates because the treatment is focused on localized fat deposits. We often hear the sentence, “I always accumulate fat there.” Cryolipolysis is ideal for body contouring. The treatment is contraindicated for people with metastatic tumors, acute diseases, severe autoimmune diseases, epilepsy, fever, severe cardiovascular diseases, and those who have a pacemaker implanted. It’s also contraindicated for those with serious liver and kidney diseases, pregnant and nursing women, and cryoglobulinemia (a rare disease, formation of a special type of immunoglobulin under the influence of cold).

Results

The result of cryolipolysis is apoptosis (programmed cell death). The fatty tissue becomes necrotic and disintegrates, then is excreted from the body through the elimination system. The process is gradual, so the initial results are expected after 3-4 weeks, and the final ones after 2 months. With a single treatment, 25-30% of the fat cells in the treated area are permanently removed.

Recovery

After the treatment, the area is temporarily red and pale, and there may be feelings of tingling, pricking, itching, and a sense of fullness in the throat after treating the double chin. All side effects disappear within a few days. The treatment is completely safe. Immediately after the treatment, you can return to your daily activities.
