Scalp Treatment

Lush and healthy hair is a dream of many men and women. However, due to certain genetic factors, reduced scalp circulation, insufficient nutrient supply, autoimmune diseases, and hormonal influence, hair loses its strength, its growth may thin out, and consequently, it may fall out. The most common scalp diseases include androgenic alopecia (hair loss due to androgenic hormones), alopecia areata (hair loss in the form of round foci, most often due to autoimmune causes), and telogen effluvium (temporary hair loss caused by hormones, acute illness, or infections).

Treatment

In our center, several treatments are available to improve hair growth.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a natural method that utilizes the power of your own blood. Specifically, platelets contained in the plasma are rich in growth factors that stimulate microcirculation and nutrient supply, reduce inflammation, and encourage other cells to heal and regenerate. This stimulates dormant hair follicles to regrow, increases the strength of existing hair, and thickens the hair. The treatment involves drawing 6 ml of your blood from a vein in the arm, which is then centrifuged to separate the plasma from the red blood cells. The platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the previously anesthetized area using fine needles.

Carboxytherapy is a method where carbon dioxide (CO2) gas is injected into the scalp. It acts as a potent vasodilator that expands blood vessels, thereby delivering a higher concentration of oxygen and nutrients. The tissue also recognizes excess CO2 as an oxygen deficit, increasing the number of capillaries that nourish hair follicles. The treatment is pleasant because the gas is heated before application. The procedure lasts 45 minutes.

Stimulating Active Hair Filler is a cocktail of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and peptides. Its unique technology ensures sustained release of active ingredients and peptides at the hair root. This allows the active complex to effectively stimulate scalp microcirculation, stimulate hair growth, and counteract most causes of hair loss. Benefits of the treatment include revitalizing hair follicles, increasing hair thickness, reducing scalp dryness including dandruff and dry hair, protecting collagen from degradation, and prolonging the lifespan of hair transplants. The treatment is performed on a previously anesthetized scalp using a small needle. The procedure time is one hour.

Candidates

Candidates for the mentioned methods are individuals who have:

  • Androgenic alopecia
  • Alopecia areata
  • Seasonal hair loss
  • Hair loss after pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Hair loss due to stress and hormonal imbalance
  • Weak, damaged, and thinning hair

Common contraindications for the aforementioned procedures include pregnancy, breastfeeding, blood clotting disorders and thrombocytopenia, active infections, scalp inflammation, and tumors.

Results

It is recommended to undergo 3 PRP treatments with a month’s gap between each session, and after observing hair growth, one maintenance treatment every 6 months. The first results are visible a few months after the first treatment. Carboxytherapy treatment is ideally done 6 to 10 times with a 2-week gap between sessions. The first results are noticeable after 3 months, and with each subsequent treatment, the result improves. The revitalizing hair filler is applied 2 to 4 times with a 2-week gap between each treatment. The first results are seen 12 weeks after treatment.

Recovery

Methods to stimulate hair growth do not require recovery time or special post-treatment care. Mild redness and sensitivity of the treated area may be observed after treatment. It is advised to come to the treatment with clean hair, and if someone is planning to color their hair, it is recommended to do that procedure a few days before the treatment.
